Have You Ever Visited a Graveyard on Halloween?

I've wandered around graveyards many times, but mostly when the sun is shining. They aren't particularly scary places in daylight. But when darkness falls, and you add Halloween to the mix, things change.

Halloween is a fun night filled with costumes, candy, parties, and sometimes things that go "Boo" in the night.

Imagine you're out with friends, all wearing costumes. You've found the perfect place for a little Halloween atmosphere: a graveyard. Someone brings out a Ouija board, and everyone gathers around.

It's all for fun, of course. But you're surrounded by the dead.

You rest your fingers lightly on the heart-shaped pointer and ask if anyone is there.

And then it moves.

Nobody admits to pushing it. But slowly, deliberately, the pointer spells out an answer.

YES.

Would you believe it?

Would you dare ask another question?

Now imagine something different.

You're sitting across from a medium who claims to communicate with people who have died.

Would you want to hear what they had to say?

And what if the medium suddenly told you that a spirit had a message specifically for you?

Would you get out of there as fast as you could, or would curiosity get the better of you?

These are the kinds of questions that make Halloween such an interesting time of year. We enjoy being frightened, at least when we think we're in control of the experience.

But what happens when the unexpected becomes personal?

In my second novel, Finding Tommy, Halloween plays a central role in a psychic paranormal romance that three college guys never anticipated.

There's a Ouija board in a graveyard. There's a visit to a medium for a séance. There's even a haunted house in an old prison. And there are questions about life, death, and the connections that might survive both.

Yes, reincarnation is involved.

Yes, romance is at the heart of the story.

And yes, it's a tale that feels right at home at Halloween.

So here's my question:

I'm not sure I'm ready to cross into the world of the dead this year. What about you?

Are you planning to visit a graveyard this Halloween?

Finding Tommy, Book Two of the Prospect Tower series, is available on Amazon. You can also explore the rest of the series under the Books navigation tab at the top of this page.
