Why write Gary’s Gift?

Gary’s Gift is the story of two college students, Flint and Zack, who find each other, fall in love, and then have to figure out what comes next after their “happily ever after.”

Because what if that moment isn’t the end?

Gary didn’t think it should be.

Before he died, he set a plan in motion. He had the money, and he didn’t want to leave it behind. The challenge is that reincarnation takes time. You come back in a new body, into a new family, with a completely different life. You grow up, and somehow you have to remember who you used to be.

Only then do you even have a chance at claiming what was left for you.

And even if you do, there is another problem. Would the people in control of that money really hand it over to a college student who has no obvious connection to Gary?

Gary and Jon Paul are reborn as Flint and Zack. This story follows them as they try to claim Gary’s gift. Along the way, they are forced to ask a harder question.

What matters more. The inheritance, or their relationship?

And can they have both?

My first book, The Option, introduced Gary through Max, a teenager trying to find his footing after coming out in high school. When Max moves to Dallas to live with his uncle Gary, everything begins to shift. From that point on, Gary becomes a central presence in the series.

Before I started writing, I spent years working as a consultant in the corporate world. That experience shaped Gary. He understands how systems work, both the good and the bad. In this book, those systems do not always behave the way they were intended to.

And when things go off track, the question becomes simple.

Does love still win?
